SERGEY LAVROV: Your irrepressible vital energy causes true admiration

Dear Lyudmila!

Please accept my sincere congratulations and best wishes in connection with your remarkable anniversary.
Everyone who knows you is truly excited by your irrepressible vitality, purposefulness, dedication, selfless service to the high ideals of good and universal mind. Thanks to your selfless mission much of the invaluable heritage that was produced by the creative genius of the Roerichs returned to the Russian land. You stood at the very origins of the creation of the International Center of the Roerichs in Moscow and you remain the permanent director of the unique Museum named after Nicholas Roerich for almost two decades.

Educational activity, the organization of international conferences, innumerable scientific trips and articles on the philosophical, artistic and scientific heritage of the Roerich family – in all these things there is a powerful active beginning of a person who set himself an unprecedented task – to comprehend the deep laws of Being, to push the horizons of Consciousness and grope for the beating of Time and Space. It is worth mentioning the topics of international scientific conferences, where you were the initiator: “A cosmic worldview is a new thinking of the XXI century”.

A scientist, a professional orientalist, a writer, a public figure, a skillful organizer and, finally, a dreamy and very nice woman – and many other words come to mind when Shaposhikova’s name sounds. The name, which is covered by a constellation of brilliant human qualities and no less than brilliant titles – Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and a member of the Writers’ Union of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, laureate of the J. Nehru International Prize. “Great journey” – that’s how you named the cycle of your books. By a great journey, friends and grateful students have the right to call your thorny path to the inexhaustible intellectual wealth of the East.

Dear Lyudmila!
From myself and my colleagues in the diplomatic department I wish you good health, long and happy years of life, scientific successes and discoveries, new “Himalayan peaks” in the list of conquered heights.
